When Independent Traveler decided to move to a new space it wanted to make a fresh start. They selected the Princeton South Corporate Campus for their new home and chose ICI as their furniture vendor. Working alongside Joshua Zinder Architects, ICI helped to interpret the design vision that Independent Traveler sought to convey, a feeling of fun and youthful enthusiasm to inspire its staff and clients.
Gone were the offices and conference rooms on the perimeter walls. By moving them to the core of the building, natural light poured into the space and accentuated the color scheme for the workstations and lounge areas. Optos architectural glass walls by Teknion were used for the office fronts and conference rooms. This application allowed for privacy but also enabled visual communication among the staff. Collaboration zones using contemporary lounge pieces by Teknion Studio allow staff to work and meet away from their workstations without occupying conference rooms. The workstations were built with lower panel walls, light finishes with touches of glass that complimented the interior offices.
In addition to the furniture, ICI provided the flooring, custom reception station and installation logistics.
Finally, ICI was able to repurpose the clients’ existing furniture to a another client thus diverting a trip to the landfill. A turn-key project from beginning to end.
