Planning your
project
It
is very important to establish a project manager
who will take the lead role and responsibility
for your requirements. The success of your move
or renovation is dependent upon developing
a plan and establishing a realistic time
line. The following guidelines should be
helpful.
The earlier that you initiate
all aspects of the project, the greater chance
you will afford yourself a
success.
Assemble your
team Establish
a project manager and the people who will
support him or her. Their
first responsibility is
normally selecting companies that will
serve you in all aspects of the move.
The earlier that you make these decisions,
the quicker your project gets off the
gound. (Typically 9-12 months
prior to move-in)
Select a professional
consultant for Interior Design and Space
Planning Let
the professionals guide you regarding the
utilization of your new or renovated space.
Space planning, furniture functionality and
aesthetics are best left to an experienced firm.
There is a great amount of information that will
flow in the very first meeting, but no need to
be intimidated, this is an exciting first
step towards a successful
project. (Typically 6-9 months
prior to move-in)
Development of
Conceptuals Make your voice heard. The
design team will react to the information
that you share, and they will do
everything they can to accomidate your tastes
and needs. The more finite details that you are
able to provide up front, (i.e. image, corporate
style, budget, etc) the more accurate the
final project will be to your original
vision. This will save time and
expenses from costly uncertainty and needed
revisions. (Typically 5-6 months
prior to move-in)
Presentation of the
Conceptuals This is an opportunity to
preview what will become the form and
functionality of your environment. Typically, a
choice of two or three solutions may be
offered depending upon your requirements. Some
revision is expected, although most often it is
very minor. (Typically 4-5 months
prior to move-in)
Final floor
plan The team
will now return with the final revision and look
forward to your approval and sign off. This sign
off will initiate the development of a sales
agreement, and a 50% deposit will initiate the
release of all P.O.’s. (Typically 3-5 months
prior to move-in)
P.O.’s are
released Electronic submission to all
vendors associated to your requirement are
released. An acknowledgement will come back
confirming all products, and an expected time of
delivery is announced. (Typically 2-3 months
prior to move-in)
Delivery and
Installation All products will be
delievered to the project site, and the
installation team provides the off-load
and begins the install. The project is
manned according to its size and the time
constraint of your expected move-in date.
(Please remember a licensed electrician must
complete the final hook up. It is your
responsibility to select a provider for this
service.) ((Typically 1-2 weeks
prior to move-in)
Punch
list A walk
through is conducted by your project manager and
the Account Executive, with the purpose of
developing a punch list. This will become the
final responsibility of your dealer, and when
completed is expected to generate all final
payments. (Typically on the final
day of install) |
